She wrote it years ago shortly after the birth of her son when something MAJOR happened in the world that shook her….shook us all actually!Ā She’s always been an impeccable writer and I know this is the first of many books to come.Ā ‘In My Arms’ should be in every moms library. Rest Well Diane Champagne & Cornbread Man listen! I donāt know if you felt like I did, but the death of Diane Keaton came completely out of left field for me! Not that any of us really know when weāre leaving, but there are certain people that we have on our radar for leaving sooner than others(at least I do anyway). Whether it be for illness or age or just living a crazy life; some people I had in line way ahead of her! She was and will always be dope! She was non-problematic. She did her own thing. Her own thing in life and for sure her own thing in fashion! NOBODY in Hollywood rocked an androgynous look like Diane Keaton! She was seasoned and confident! Very sure about who and what she was. If by some small chance it was all a facade she should win another Academy Award for Best Actress like she did for her role in āAnnie Hallā in 1977 or at least be nominated for one. By the way, I love so many of Ms. Keatonās movies, but I think my favorite will always be Baby Boom! Salute to Diane Keaton for being a dope woman in Hollywood for half a century. Rest Well! I Did a Thing! Champagne & Cornbread, Fashion Yāall!!! I did a thing! On August 8th I lauched a collaboration with Fresh Supreme and Iām over the moon about it! If youāve been following me for a while you might remember in 2020 when I created a series of characters, Sheila, Paula and Treece. They all had a different look with different interest that I described and an accompanying playlist to make it real! My followers at the time seem to really like the concepts and most of them knew āthat person/characterā in real life. Ā Fast forward to now. I/We Did It!
I/We Did It! Champagne & Cornbread Yāall! I did my first full live show since the pandemic and it was amazing! My definition of amazing used to be perfection. Perfection meaning every note I sang was delivered with complete perfection. Well that didnāt happen.LOL The fact that I walked away from the show feeling satisfied points to a huge amount of growth for me! You have NO IDEA!!! I had the perfect combination of people there. The crowd was ready to have a good time and thatās all I really needed to see to be okay. I hit so many snags leading up to that night that I was just ready to get it over with, honestly.LOL Iām going to do a YouTube video about all that because itās just too much to type! Long story short I/we pulled it off and it turned out amazing š Ā I come up with my best outfit ideas at the last minute, so it didnāt come together until the 4th quarter. I traveled to Oklahoma with no idea what I would wear on top with those silver sequin/chained pants. A couple of hours before the show I had a lightbulb moment! Youāre at home in Oklahoma wear an OU shirt!LOL Boom! An outfit was born! The people loved it! 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show Review Champagne & Cornbread Hey, Friend! OMG! Before I get to the amazingness that is Kendrick Lamar I wanna talk about my favorite player looks! Now this might come as a surprise, but I think my favorite pregame look came from Travis Kelce. It was out of the box, but not so far out of the box that it led me into a state of confusion. I didnāt notice any of those looks last night, but there have been a few games where Iām looking at the tv sideways because a players look was so interesting.LOL I think I loved the Travis look because I absolutely LOVE a look that gives vintage vibes with an up-to-date spin. It gave 70ās fly! Even the shades gave nostalgia! Jalen Hurts monochromatic look was my 2nd favorite. It was classic, but pushed the envelope with the color and the red “Breed of One” stitched on the neckline. Coming in 3rd for me was DeVonta Smith. He was a mixture of classic and contemporary to me. His lean frame was perfect for that cut of suit. The color was great too! Those were my 3 faves of the night from the looks I got to see! Now letās get to our cousin Kendrick! Bay-Bee!!! Kendrick murked it!!! EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! The choreography, the simple costuming, the set, the symbolism, the guest appearances, EVERYTHING! Samuel L. Jackson played his role perfectly! Serena doing the C-Walk, SZA giving vocals and the song transitions were impeccable! I give his performance tens across the board. The messaging was subtle if you were unaware, but STRONG if you were up on it!š„ Kendrick did his thing. Welcome to the Champagne & Cornbread Life! Champagne & Cornbread Happy New Year!!!š Can you believe itās 2025?!šĀ 2024 might be the fastest year Iāve ever felt go by! Iāve had some fast years before, but my goodness 2024 felt like āneck breaking levelā speed to me. Feeling how fast 2024 was going only solidified that I needed to move forward on all of my ideas!(Lord knows I have a million ideas. Just ask my husband.lol) Not only move forward with them, but do it with SPEED! If you knew how long Iāve been walking around with this concept in my head it would either tickle you or annoy the crap out of you! See, iām a bit of a perfectionist. Actually thatās a lie. Iām an overthinker more than a perfectionist. My cooking sometimes proves that Iām not obsessed with perfectionismš Iām not horrible, but perfect aināt it either and i’m totally fine with that!LOL That being said, my overthinking has made me take waaaay too long to actually launch way too many ideas including this one! Champagne and Cornbread is how I describe my life. I like luxurious things, but I also like simple things. I like high society events, but I love a simple backyard barbecue just the same. I like Hermesā Oranās, but I also love a good pair of Schutz sandals. Champagne is the boujee in me, but cornbread is the soul, baby!š«Ā The goal for me is to be fancy, but not fake. I believe when champagne is IN you and not ON you, the fluff doesnāt matter. Labels from head to toe donāt matter! You could rock an outfit from Dollar General with shoes and a bag from the thrift store and then finish it off with a face beat with nothing but makeup from Walgreens and shut a place DOWN!!! I believe that deeply. I believe it because Iāve done it!LOL The bottom line is, I want you to know itās also in YOU. Everybodyās “IT” is different. My āITā aināt cooking, but it might be yours! I make no apologies for it! I just want me and you to be great! Donāt fall into the trap of thinking that if you didnāt or donāt do it the way the book said do it then itās not real! Those days are OVER! Do what you wanna do, how you wanna do it! I’m gonna share the cheat codes I use in life that make me look like i’m really killing it.LOL My clothes, my ideas, my work, my kids and my husband. All of it! Hopefully as we build this community you can share some of your best tricks for how you do āitā the way you do it and in turn make me and the rest of us better!
